After visiting of Danish ecology group to Aralsk in 1991 there appeared an idea to revive the sea by supporting a sustainable fishery in the sea. It was the basis for the creating of the International Danish Kazakh fishery project “From Kattegat to the Aral sea”. As the result of the project work the first Kazakh delegation visited Denmark to exchange experience. Aral fishermen joined into fishery cooperatives and in 1996 on the Smal Aral sea there was organized the trial fishery of the flounder. It was the prove that there is a potential to develop the fishery on Aral! The initiative group which worked with the Danish delegation was an establisher for the NGO “Aral Tenizi” in 1998.
To manage the activities of the NGO there are organized the following bodies:
The highest ruling body – the General Assembly of the society,
Ruling body: the Board Members of the society,
Checking revision body: revision commission.
In case if any project is (which is applied with agreement of the Board Members) – executive staff of the project is settled by the coordinator of the project and with the agreement of the president of the society.
Staff of NGO “Aral Tenizi”: security services, technical staff, president of the society.
Staff of the project “From Kattegat to the Aral sea” – local coordinator, sustainable manager, development manager, manager of biology monitoring, financial manager.
Staff of fish production center “Kambala Balyk” – 30 people.
